SOMATIC BREATH WORK
Somatic Breathwork is a therapeutic practice that involves conscious, deep breathing techniques to access and explore the body's physical, emotional, and energetic states. It is a form of breathwork that focuses on using the breath as a tool for self-exploration, healing, and personal growth.
During a Somatic Breathwork session, individuals engage in specific breathing patterns designed to activate the body's natural healing mechanisms and promote self-awareness. By consciously breathing in a particular way, people can access and release stored emotions, trauma, and tension held within the body.
Somatic breathing is said to facilitate mental, spiritual, and physical healing benefits. It’s thought that the practice allows you to move beyond your body and ego to get in touch with your true self and spirit.
The practice typically involves lying down and engaging in rhythmic breathing patterns that promote relaxation and deepening of the breath. This can result in a variety of experiences, such as emotional releases, physical sensations, insights, and increased self-awareness.
Somatic Breathwork is often facilitated by trained practitioners who provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to explore their breath and bodily experiences. It can be used as a standalone practice or integrated with other therapeutic modalities to support healing and personal transformation.
